Impartiality

SSAIB is committed - at all levels - to the maintenance of its impartiality and has put in place all the necessary policies and procedures to ensure that its certification activities and decisions are both objective and impartial.

Governance

These policies and procedures undergo regular review by an independent committee, whose primary task is to ensure that impartiality is safeguarded.

Founded in 1994, SSAIB is a not-for-profit organisation and is a company limited by guarantee, with a Governing Board representing a wide range of industry stakeholders.

In addition to representation from the Police (NPCC and Police Scotland), Fire services and insurers, the board comprises representatives of various Government departments, trade associations, professional bodies, practitioners and relevant consumer organisations.
